Elektrohalle Rhomberg is thrilled to present a compelling dialogue in contemporary painting at the upcoming edition of viennacontemporary soon, featuring works by Haruko Maeda (*1983 in Tokyo, JPN), Ester Parasková (*1993 in Brno, CZ), and Adelheid Rumetshofer (1976 in Freistadt, AUT). While all three artists utilize the canvas to explore inner and outer realities, they do so through profoundly different visual languages.
Ester Parasková's paintings burst with raw energy. Her gestural abstractions, filled with dynamic lines and expressive marks, capture a sense of immediate, unfiltered emotion. The work is a physical manifestation of a spontaneous process, highlighting the artist's engagement with the act of creation itself.
Haruko Maeda's work, on the other hand, draws the viewer in with its meticulous detail and rich figurative storytelling. Her paintings are intimate vignettes of domestic life, transforming everyday scenes into deeply textured narratives that are both personal and universal.
In stark contrast, Adelheid Rumetshofer's practice is a study in atmosphere and abstraction. Her ethereal works dissolve form into fields of soft color and light, inviting a quiet, meditative contemplation. The pieces are a testament to the power of suggestion and the nuance of surface.
Together, these artists' presentations create a multifaceted look at the possibilities of painting today, showcasing a range from the hyper-specific and narrative to the purely abstract and emotive.
