The works always prove to be hybrids of figurative hints and motifs that mutate into the abstract. Specific forms dissolve, are deformed and reassembled in varying mixed shapes. In this way, the artist confronts the viewer with a wealth of visuals that resembles the uncertainty of fever dreams. Sometimes more sometimes less clearly one recognizes the familiar, which at the same moment leads into challenging uncertainty. The surprising and irritating pictorial surfaces result here from an aesthetic autonomy of form. Familiar motifs trigger processes of abstraction through creative decoupling.
