Julian Heuser (1986 born in Frankfurt, Germany) raises more questions than answers with his works. What at first appears abstract, dynamic and atmospheric on his canvas, turns out on closer inspection to be a field full of uncertainties that is meant to confront us with the riddle of our own existence in the here and now. To this end, he uses the traditional medium of painting as a projection surface and, through the combined use of digital and analog materials, questions our relationship to the ever-increasing influence of modern screen surfaces.
